The converter is connected to the computer's VGA output using the connecting cable supplied. The screen then plugs into the converter. The CCTV's video output connects to the converter using the cable supplied with the CCTV.
The output of the converter feeds the display.
Using the footpedal, the picture on the computer screen can be switched between the normal computer display and the output from the CCTV.
A longer press on the footpedal puts the converter into P I P mode. The CCTV output appears in a 1/6th size box, which can be moved around the screen with short presses on the pedal. The figure shows the box in the top right corner of a Windows XP desktop. NOTE! the moire effect, if present on your web display, is a photographic artifact, not visible in practice!
Power requirements: 240 volts A.C. 50 Hertz, 6 Watts (plugpack).
The converter plugs into the USB port and accepts composite video from any CCTV.
Software running on the laptop displays the CCTV image in a re-sizeable window (using the mouse). The figure shows a nearly full-screen window on a Windows 7 desktop.
The same software allows the window contents to be recorded as a video, and replayed on demand (using the mouse to press RECORD and STOP buttons).
